Dial-A-Ride

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Qualifications

Individuals age 60 years or older or any disability

Individuals with a disability that prevents them from using the HARTransit fixed-route system.

Application

Short form for seniors, long form for disabled.

Long form.

Riding Privileges

May travel to any location within a local community and to contiguous towns. Hours of operation vary by municipality.

ADA trips apply within 3/4 mile of a HARTransit bus route. Hours of operation are same as fixed route.

PCA's & Companions

PCA's ride for free. Companions pay fare equal to that of scheduled passenger.

Advanced Trip Reservations

One week in advance for non-medical trips, two weeks in advance for medical trips.
Deadline is 4pm the day before a desired ride.

Deadline for booking any appointment is 4pm the day before the desired ride. Any ADA trip may be booked two weeks in advance.  Reservation requests can be made Sundays or Holidays for trips the next day.

Same Day Trips

May be made up to twice per month. Availablility depends on openings in the schedule.

Service is competitive and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Non-competitive. ADA trips have highest priority. If an ADA trip is desired for a time on the schedule that is already occupied by a Dial-A-Ride trip, the latter will be bumped. (Notification of this is provided to the Dial-A-Ride passenger)
